Busch’s Fresh Food Market – March 31, 2020 Update

Busch’s continues to evolve our response to the Coronavirus Emergency in order to ensure that we can provide our guests with the products they need in an environment that is as safe and secure as we can make it. We are working with the health departments in the counties where we operate, as well as following guidelines from the State of Michigan and the CDC, in order to make sure we have the most current safety standards in place.

New Hours

Our new hours will be 8:00 AM through 8:00 PM starting April 1, 2020.

Social Distancing

In order to help maintain distance between people we have placed large X’s on the floor, 6-feet apart, so that people remember to keep distance when waiting in line. We also are only opening every-other cash register in order to keep distance between check-out lanes. We realize that this may make the lines longer but we need to do so based on the health department directives. We also ask that guests try and maintain a healthy separation both inside and outside the store whenever possible.

Online Shopping

We have had a dramatic increase in our online shopping so we have had to make some adjustments to accommodate the needs of our guests. Online orders will be filled and ready for pickup at least 24 hours after you place them. We are limiting the number of orders we will fulfill each hour in order to help maintain the social distancing requirement during pickup. We have eliminated free Wednesdays after April 1, 2020. Since many key items are still in short supply we will make an effort to find a similar item for you, if at all possible, and will let you know when we have made a substitution. If you do not want a substitution for a particular item, or any items, please state so when you place your order.

Highlighting Safety

Throughout our stores we will continue to emphasize safety with our associates and our guests. Please note that while we offered wipes for carts in the beginning of this emergency we have run out in many locations due to over-use. We are trying to find new supplies but they are difficult to obtain anywhere in the country. Therefore, starting this week, we will have an associate sanitizing cart handles for our guests. We also encourage you to bring your own wipes or other sanitizing supplies you would like to use.

Looking Out for Our Associates

Please understand that our associates are working in very difficult circumstances to try and provide you with the service, selection, and quality products you’ve come to expect from Busch’s. We encourage you to be supportive of their efforts and mindful that they are on the front lines without any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Since masks and gloves are being directed first to nurses, doctors, and other first responders, our associates often have to do without, bring their own, or improvise with a bandana or scarf. If you know of any PPE that could be made available to our associates please contact a store manager. We will be installing protective shields for our associates working check-out and allowing many jobs to be handled during hours we are closed.

Getting Products on the Shelves

There continues to be unprecedented demand across the grocery industry for certain items but we are doing our best to make sure the products you need, or a suitable alternative, will be available. Guests can help us have enough for everyone by not buying more than is needed. Busch’s reserves the right to limit the purchase of certain items and we ask for your cooperation in making sure everyone has an opportunity to purchase what they need.

Looking Out for the Most Vulnerable

If you, or a family member or friend, are at higher risk for Coronavirus please let us know and we will try and help as best we can. We encourage our guests to help their neighbors by adding needed items to their own shopping trip and/or to take advantage of our online shopping option.

Working Together

Since 1975 we have been a part of your local community and we are very appreciative of all of the kind words you have had for us as we face this Pandemic together. The support of our guests, and hearing that we are making a difference, is something that helps our associates make it through each and every difficult day. Thank you for being a part of our family and know that, together, we will get through this.
